The gathering for forest, game and fishing enthusiasts!

Soon, from the 20 to 23 February 2025, the Austrian and international hunting community will be gathering at Messezentrum Salzburg for the 35. edition of the most important trade fair of its kind in the Alps-Adriatic-Danube region. As well as featuring hunting and fishing, the fair also showcases the topics of adventure, nature and travel as Exhibition Director Stefanie Remiasch outlines: “In 2025, ‘Die Hohe Jagd & Fischerei’ will again feature a broad range of offerings for nature and hunting enthusiasts. We look forward to offering visitors a well-balanced mix of tried-and-trusted highlights and exciting innovations.”

Where hunters' dreams come true

Alongside all the latest equipment, technology and accessories for stalking prey, there’s also an impressive programme of themed side events and a wide range of demonstrations, live events and talks – all well worth seeing. 

Visitors can look forward to features on a wide range of topics:

  • This year the hunting video-streaming platform ‘Hunt on Demand’ premieres new culinary programme points such as live cooking and wine tasting 
  • The Austrian National Stag Cry Championships is a competition requiring skill and passion as experts give their best immitations of a stag cry 
  • During live tree seat demonstrations Austria’s Federal Forestry Commission provides practical information about a place hunters like to sit in silence 
  • Live archery demonstrations reveal the fascination of this traditional method of hunting 
  • Experts provide insights into various hunting topics in exciting panel discussions around the venue – and on the Jagd x Weidwerk stage

Fishing area presents the fascinating world of water 

Fly fishermen, and hobby to pro anglers all get their money's worth in a fishing area that baits visitors with state-of-the-art technology, new products and expert knowledge. There are also plenty of highlights in store at the trade fair for general fishing enthusiasts:

  • On-stage talks and panel discussions featuring discussions between experts and the public
  • The fly fishing casting pool hosts live demonstrations of the art of fly fishing
  • Workshop lane benefit from practical tips and tricks given by professional anglers

Fun and facts for the whole family

The treasure hunt is a new and exciting experience for visitors of all ages. Details of this interactive adventure search will be announced shortly on the website and on social media channels.

It’s a dog’s world

There’s a special area dedicated to every hunter's most faithful companion, where many breeds of hunting dog put their trained snouts to the test and show off their skills during demonstrations.

ETC 2025: The champions of taxidermy

Every two years the European Taxidermy Championships provide a particular highlight. The competition honours the world’s best taxidermists, enabling visitors to experience taxidermy demonstrations up close and marvel at each exponent’s impressive craftsmanship.

As always, the trade fair is to focus on successfully combining tradition and innovation with a programme of experience-oriented highlights for the senses. This blend of tried-and-tested attractions and new highlights will guarantee an indispensable platform for hunters, fishermen and nature enthusiasts.
